Once administered, thin connective tissue, already present in your skin, forms around the injected calcium hydroxyl apatite microspheres. These microspheres not only act to provide volume at the site of the injection, but the microspheres also stimulate the collagen production process.
The injections are relatively painless thanks in large part to the FDA approved method of mixing lidocaine – a local anesthetic designed to decrease discomfort and mitigate side effects such as burning or itching.
