Although acne is a very common skin disorder, unfortunately, there is no cure. Some acne treatments include over the counter topical products (Proactiv, Neutrogena, etc.) oral antibiotics (minocycline, keflex, etc.) and systemic medications like accutane. While some over the counter products can be effective in some cases, they typically address only one or two pieces of the acne puzzle. Over the counter products and topical medicines (those used as skin creams) typically either work to break up dead skin cells on the surface of the skin (exfoliation) or help to kill acne bacteria (benzoyl peroxide). Although there is certainly a lot of value in these solutions, they do not work to control oil production like accutane does (shrink the sebaceous gland). They also do not work to control ance bacteria (sytemically from the inside out) the same way oral antibiotics would. The problem is that each of these solutions works to solve a different part of the acne problem and not one of them address exfoliation, shrinking the sebaceous (oil) gland and killing acne bacteria simultaneously.

The Celibre Medical acne laser treatment program is a good long-term alternative to all of the above treatments because we address exfoliation, acne bacteria and shrinking the oil gland in our acne treatment program. The Aramis laser and photodynamic therapy are designed to shrink the sebaceous gland, our glycolic acid skin care products are designed to exfoliate the skin and the medlite laser, blu-light acne treatments and benzoyl peroxide products all kill acne bacteria. By combining all of these treatments into one program, we have created an excellent alternative to any one or (or combination of) the more traditional non-laser acne treatment programs outlined above.
